AIB acts to contain property losses
Allied Irish Banksis "actively managing" about €700m (£529m) of loans to property developers in a bid to contain anticipated losses arising as borrowers default, in fresh evidence of a slowdown in the Irish housing market. The Republic's biggest lender played down the scale of the impact, saying this represented only about 8 per cent of loans extended to Irish housebuilders. But it is nonetheless the first concrete indication that Irish property developers are encountering financing problems. .
From Harare: Election fever starts
Esther (not her real name), 28, a professional living and working in Zimbabwe's capital, Harare, is writing a regular diary on the challenges of leading a normal life. Zimbabwe is suffering from an acute economic crisis. The country has the world's highest rate of annual inflation - 26,000% - and just one in five has an official job. Well Harare is in the grip of high excitement over Simba Makoni's announcement that he is running for president in the 29 March polls. It has to be THE most talked about issue here. .
U-M basketball program needs more energy
He, however, needs full-fledged administrative support to make this goal a reality. What better way to show commitment to U-M's first-year coach and his program than to announce official plans and a timeline for Crisler Arena renovations and a practice facility? A great opportunity to do that passed the school by on Jan. 31, a home game against Minnesota that honored Crisler's 40-year anniversary. Cazzie Russell and several other former players were in attendance. You can bet all of those ex-Wolverines would like to know when talk will turn into actual construction. A few suggestions In fairness to Martin, his department and the university, there appears to be some momentum building. Crisler is at least becoming a regular topic of discussion when the focus isn't on football, Rich Rodriguez, the Michigan Stadium renovation or Terrelle Pryor.
Candidates push ahead as money dwindles
I don't trust Obama, I think he's not what he's trying to appear to be. The Clinton's have their faults but I'm voting for Hillary because she has so much experience, she truly cares about the middle and lower class (how I hate that saying) AND I think she is the best person to get the economic situation under control and FINALLY get us all the health care we deserve. I cannot understand how the greatest (self proclaimed) country on earth cannot provide health care for its citizens. I think we should all be screaming from the sidewalks demanding health care now!! It's the number one cause of bankruptcy in the USA how unfair that looking after your health or the health of your loved ones could cost you your life savings. Kennendy endorsing Obama was actually a favor to Hillary ha ha. I can't stand that fat old blow hard.
